The Faculty of Pharmacy, Pancasila University (FFUP) once again demonstrated its commitment to developing the quality of scientific publications by holding a Scientific Journal Workshop Towards Scopus Indexing on Friday, June 18, 2025, at the FFUP 2nd Floor Meeting Room. The event featured an expert speaker in the field of scientific publications, apt. Mohammad Rizki Fadhil Pratama, M.Si, as Editor in Chief of the Borneo Journal of Pharmacy.

This workshop is specifically intended for three journals managed by FFUP, namely the Indonesian Journal of Pharmacy (JIFI), the Journal of Natural Products for Degenerative Diseases (JNPDD), and the Indonesian Journal of Administrative and Clinical Pharmacy (IJACP). With a highly practical approach, the speakers provided strategic and technical guidance to enable each journal to meet the strict criteria for inclusion in the highly reputable international database, Scopus.

In this active and interactive session, journal managers were guided directly from the beginning:

  • Evaluate the initial appearance of the OJS website to make it more user-friendly and professional.
  • Adjust the article writing template to comply with international journal standards.
  • The importance of involving editors from abroad as a form of global collaboration and validation,
  • Setting publication schedules and consistency, which is one of the main requirements for indexing,
  • As well as copyright and access policies on each journal’s OJS platform.

Interestingly, this workshop not only consisted of theory and discussion, but also continued with practical application. The speakers guided participants through the trial registration process for JIFI to Scopus, one of FFUP’s leading journals, which is currently ranked SINTA 2. This process provided the entire management team with insight into the concrete steps that must be taken to ensure that the journal they manage is able to compete and gain international recognition.

Not only that, each journal received correction notes and strategic input that must be followed up as part of the journal revision and quality improvement process. This evaluation is an important asset in preparing for the official submission to Scopus in the near future.

Through this activity, FFUP reaffirms its commitment to being part of a high-quality and competitive global academic ecosystem. With a spirit of collaboration and continuous improvement, it is hoped that FFUP journals will be able to break into the international publishing scene and make significant scientific contributions, particularly in the fields of pharmacy and community service.
