Wednesday (22/1) the Faculty of Pharmacy of Pancasila University held an open doctoral promotion session for apt. Banu Kuncoro, S.Si., M.Farm. This session is part of the academic process in completing the Doctor of Pharmaceutical Sciences Study Program. Located in the meeting room on the 2nd floor of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Pancasila University, this session was an important moment for apt. Banu Kuncoro in defending his dissertation entitled “In Silico Study, Formulation and In Vitro Test of Ovula Nanoemulsion of Eugenol from Clove Leaf (Syzygium aromaticum L.) Using HeLa Cell Culture as Cervical Anticancer Candidate.”

The dissertation by apt. Banu Kuncoro discussed the potential of eugenol from clove leaves as a candidate for cervical anticancer through an in silico approach, formulation, and in vitro testing using HeLa cell culture. This research is expected to contribute to the development of more effective cervical cancer therapy by utilizing natural materials.

The event was attended by the Rector of Pancasila University, Prof. Dr. Ir. Marsudi Wahyu Kisworo, IPU, who also acted as Chairperson of the Session adding academic weight and showing his full support for research conducted within the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Pancasila.

The open session was full of enthusiasm and in-depth scientific discussions. The examiners provided various questions and constructive input on the research that had been carried out. After going through the evaluation process, apt. Banu Kuncoro successfully defended his dissertation well.

This success became a new milestone in the academic journey of apt. Banu Kuncoro’s academic journey and became evidence of the scientific contribution of the Faculty of Pharmacy of Pancasila University in the field of pharmacy, especially in natural ingredient-based anticancer research. With this graduation, it is hoped that the research results can provide wider benefits for the medical and pharmaceutical world in Indonesia.
