Bogor, September 6, 2025 — Pancasila University has once again demonstrated its commitment to promoting the spirit of “impactful campuses,” in line with the vision of the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education through its Community Service Program (PKM). This time, the campus synergy is present in Tegal Village, Kemang District, Bogor Regency, to assist the Poklahsar Kuripan Bina Gemilang group — micro-entrepreneurs who process fish-based products.

The event, held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, involved cross-faculty collaboration between the Faculty of Pharmacy (FFUP) and the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at Pancasila University. The PKM team was chaired by Dr. Nurita Andayani, with members Dr. Chaerani Nisa, Esti Mulatsari, M.Sc, and several students who played an active role in the event.

“We are promoting the theme of Optimizing the Competitiveness of Poklahsar Kuripan Bina Gemilang through Education on Hygienic Production, Understanding Nutrition, Certification, and Creative Marketing. We hope that this program will have a real impact on improving the quality and marketability of the community’s processed fish products,” said Dr. Nurita Andayani.

Education and Training, from Nutrition to Product Branding

Poklahsar Kuripan Bina Gemilang is a small business group with 20 members that produces various processed fish foods such as empek-empek, tekwan, tahu bakso, and siomay. In order to increase competitiveness in the market, the PKM team presented a series of training sessions with competent speakers from the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) and MSME practitioners.

The education began with a presentation on nutrition and hygiene in processed fish products by Adhis Elti Irsani (FFUP student), followed by a session on digital marketing by Kafka Iliya Achlar (FFUP student). The involvement of students as resource persons is a tangible form of experience-based learning that supports the achievement of the university’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

The next session featured Dede Gilang Septarina, S.Pi., M.Si from KKP, who discussed strategies for strengthening product added value through certification and creative packaging, as well as Puspitaningrum Pratiwi, S.E, owner of Gerai D’Pita, who shared best practices in optimizing the quality, legality, and marketing of MSME processed fish products.

Tangible Support: From Education to Production Facilitation

Not only providing training, the PKM team at Pancasila University also distributed production equipment assistance in the form of freezers, choppers, vacuum and sealing machines, stainless steel tables, and packaging equipment. This support is expected to increase production capacity, maintain product quality, and expand Poklahsar’s market reach.

“With more adequate facilities, processed fish products can have a longer shelf life and attractive packaging quality, enabling them to compete in a wider market,” added Dr. Nurita.

Public Enthusiasm and Hopes for Sustainability

The event held at the Tegal Village Hall was enthusiastically welcomed by the local community. Mr. Heru, representative of the Tegal Village Head, appreciated the presence of Pancasila University, which helped increase the productivity of the villagers.

“We are very grateful for this event. Programs like this make the community more productive and creative. Hopefully, it can continue, because we also have great potential in the fisheries sector and other MSMEs,” said Heru.

Through this activity, Pancasila University demonstrates its strategic role in bridging the academic world and society. The synergy between lecturers, students, practitioners, and the government not only strengthens the capacity of MSMEs but also becomes a tangible manifestation of a campus that has a sustainable social and economic impact.
