Jakarta, July 3, 2025 β€” The Faculty of Pharmacy at Pancasila University once again carried out the destruction of hazardous and toxic waste (B3) for Batch 2 on Thursday (3/7). This activity is part of the institution’s commitment to safe, responsible, and environmentally conscious laboratory waste management.

In this second batch, a total of 1,750.5 kilograms of waste was destroyed, consisting of:

  • Liquid/solid hazardous waste (code A106d) weighing 1,276.45 kg
  • Used hazardous waste packaging (code B104d) weighing 446.6 kg
  • Infectious clinical waste (code A337-1) weighing 27.45 kg

Previously, in Batch 1, the destruction of hazardous waste was also carried out with a total of 1,742 kg.

The waste disposal process was carried out in collaboration with PT Media Biomedik Indonesia, a partner company that has official permits for the transportation and disposal of hazardous waste. The entire process was conducted in accordance with applicable environmental laws and regulations, as well as occupational health and safety standards.

This activity is also a tangible manifestation of the Faculty of Pharmacy’s contribution to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically:

  • SDG Number 12 : Responsible Consumption and Production
  • SDG Number 3 : Good Health and Well-being

Through this step, the Faculty of Pharmacy at Pancasila University demonstrates its concern for professional laboratory waste management and creates a healthier, safer, and more sustainable campus environment.
