Seoul, South Korea – A delegation from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Pancasila University (FFUP) had the privilege of visiting a number of leading healthcare facilities, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics industries in South Korea as part of the pre-conference site visit event organized by the 2024 Federation of Asian Pharmaceutical Associations (FAPA) committee on October 30, 2024. This activity was held with the aim of providing an in-depth insight into South Korea’s medical and pharmaceutical systems, which are known to be excellent and well-organized. The site visit included visits to service facilities in pharmacies, hospitals, pharmaceutical industries, and cosmetic industries in South Korea.
Visit to Amore Pacific Cosmetic Industry
Amore Pacific, one of the leading cosmetic companies in South Korea, was the destination visited by Dr. apt. Novi Yantih, M.Si; Dr. apt. Faizatun, M.Si.; apt. Shelly Taurhesia, PhD; Dr. apt. Siti Umrah Noor, M.Si; Dr. apt. Faridah, M.Si.; Dr. apt. Rahmatul Qodriah, M.Farm as the delegation of FFUP. This visit provided valuable experience about technology and innovation in the beauty industry, especially in the manufacture of environmentally friendly and sustainable cosmetic products. Dr. apt. Novi Yantih, M.Si., as the delegation representative, expressed her positive comments regarding this visit, “Amore Pacific has shown a high commitment to innovation and sustainability in the cosmetic industry. This experience opened our insights into the development of cosmetic products that are safer and more efficient, as well as relevant to global trends that are increasingly concerned with environmental aspects.”
Daewoong Pharmaceutical Industry Visit
FFUP delegates included Dr. apt. Zuhelmi Aziz, M.Si.; Dr. apt. Kartiningsih, M.Si.; apt. Diah Kartika Pratami, M.Farm; apt. Desi Nadya Aulena, M.Farm.; and apt. Safira Nafisa, M.Si. visited Daewoong Osong Plant, one of the leading pharmaceutical companies in South Korea known for its research in the development of innovative medicines. During the visit, the delegates were introduced to the advanced technology in the production process of pharmaceuticals as well as the quality standards applied by Daewoong. Dr. apt. Zuhelmi Aziz, M.Si. FFUP delegation representative, gave a positive review of the visit, “Daewoong has proven its expertise in the pharmaceutical field with very high standards, both in research and production. This inspires us in Indonesia to continue improving the quality and standards in the national pharmaceutical industry.”
Visit to Severance Hospital
In a series of site visit activities, FFUP delegates Prof. Dr. apt. Yusi Anggriani, M.Kes; Prof. Dr. apt. Ni Made Dwi Sandhiutami, M.Kes.; apt. Hesty Utami Ramadaniati, M.Clin., Pharm., PhD; Dr. Nurita Andayani, M.Si.; and apt. Fitri Nurhayati, M.Farm, visited Severance Hospital, one of the leading medical centers in South Korea. This visit provided an opportunity for the delegates to witness first-hand the latest medical technology and holistic patient care system implemented at the hospital. Prof. Dr. Yusi Anggriani, M.Kes. the representative of FFUP, appreciated the facilities provided by Severance Hospital, “Severance Hospital has shown an outstanding standard of medical care with very advanced facilities and technology. This visit opened our eyes to how technology and health systems can be integrated to provide optimal patient care.”
These visits provided important insights into advanced medical technology, innovative treatment methods, and a superior pharmaceutical industry system. It is hoped that the knowledge gained by the FFUP delegation from this visit will inspire the development of the pharmaceutical and healthcare system in Indonesia, in line with the international standards achieved by South Korea.
