Monday (19/5) Faculty of Pharmacy Universitas Pancasila (FFUP) in collaboration with Indonesian Young Scientist Association (IYSA), officially held a prestigious international event titled The 5th World Science, Environment and Engineering Competition (WSEEC) 2025. This science innovation competition took place from May 14 to 22, 2025 with a series of online and offline judging activities, with the main location of offline activities in the 4th Floor Hall, Universitas Pancasila, Faculty of Pharmacy, Jakarta.
Dean of FFUP, Prof. Dr. apt. Syamsudin, M.Biomed, explained that WSEEC is a global scientific platform designed to accommodate innovative ideas from students, ranging from elementary to tertiary levels, both at home and abroad. This year, the competition attracted 370 teams from 14 countries, consisting of 88 offline teams and 282 online teams. Some of the participating countries include Indonesia, Turkmenistan, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Thailand, South Korea, Singapore, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Romania, Hong Kong, the United States, and Austria.
WSEEC 2025 covers a wide range of science disciplines such as Mathematics, Physics, Life Sciences, Energy and Engineering, Technology, Environment, and Social Sciences. The main objective of organizing WSEEC is to provide a space for young people to develop critical, creative, and collaborative thinking skills through scientific and innovative approaches.
The series of events begins with an online opening on May 14, 2025, followed by an online participant judging session on May 14-15 and an online awarding ceremony on May 16. Offline activities are scheduled to begin on May 19 with an official opening, followed by live judging on May 20, and closed with awarding and closing ceremony on May 22, 2025 at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Pancasila University.

Through his remarks, the Vice Chancellor for Learning, Student Affairs and Alumni of Universitas Pancasila, Prof. Dr. Ir. Arissetyanto Nugroho, M.M., IPU, CMA, MSS. expressed his appreciation for the enthusiasm and dedication of all participants, “I express my admiration for the dedication and hard work of all participants, the projects you present are the result of research, experimentation and creative problem solving. Regardless of the final outcome, the journey you have taken is worthwhile. Take advantage of this opportunity to learn, interact and network,” he said.
Participants will present their projects to a jury of academics, researchers and industry professionals. Winners will be announced and awarded as well as further collaboration opportunities at the international level.

WSEEC is expected to produce more young researchers and future innovators who are able to contribute to solving various global problems through science and technology approaches. This year’s organization is also an important momentum in building international networks and strengthening collaboration between nations in the fields of education and scientific research. Through this fifth year, WSEEC continues to strengthen the role of the Faculty of Pharmacy as a host that encourages the advancement of science and sustainable innovation at the global level.
