The Doctor of Pharmaceutical Science (S3) Study Program, Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Pancasila (FFUP) has added to its list of doctoral graduates. This is after Asarini successfully held the 21st doctor of pharmaceutical science degree. Asarini successfully defended her dissertation on “Study of the Combination Effect of Nigella sativa Extract, Andrographis paniculata AND Propolis as Immunomodulator of Immune Response in Mice Infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis”, in an open session, at the FFUP Hall, Monday (25/11).
In an innovative study, Ms. Asarini succeeded in uncovering the potential of a combination of black cumin, sambiloto, and propolis extracts in boosting the immune system. Her dissertation, which was successfully defended in an open trial, showed that the combination of these three natural ingredients was able to provide significant immunomodulatory effects in mice infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis, the bacteria that cause tuberculosis.
This research opens new hope in the development of alternative treatments for tuberculosis, especially in improving the immune system of patients. This herbal combination has the potential to reduce the risk of complications and accelerate the healing process.
The results of Asarini’s research were outlined in a dissertation entitled “Study of the Combination Effect of Nigella sativa Extract, Andrographis paniculata AND Propolis as Immunomodulator of Immune Response in Mice Infected with Mycobacterium tubercukosis”.
Pass with honors was given to researcher Asarini at the doctoral promotion session led by Prof. Dian Ratih, with examiners consisting of Prof. Dr. Shirly Kumala, M.Biomed., Prof. Ratna Djamil, Dr. apt.
