The Faculty of Pharmacy, Pancasila University (FFUP) was established in 1963 and has grown to become the first and largest private faculty of pharmacy in Indonesia. The Pharmacy Diploma Three (D-3) Study Program is a vocational pharmacy study program under the auspices of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Pancasila University. It was established in 2003 based on BAN-PT Decree No. 34/DIKTI/Kep./2003 and began its academic process in 2004.

The D-3 Pharmacy Study Program at Pancasila University (Prodi D-3 FFUP) has been accredited A as of November 2020, based on the Decree of the Independent Accreditation Agency for Health Higher Education (LAM-PTKes) No. 0410/LAM-PTKes /Akr/Dip/XI/2020. The Quality Management System of the FFUP D-3 Study Program has also been ISO 9001:2015 certified. As proof that the Pancasila University D-3 Pharmacy Study Program consistently implements sustainable quality management, for 2 (two) consecutive years (2019 and 2020), based on an assessment by the Pancasila University Quality Assurance Office, the D-3 FFUP Study Program was awarded 1st place as the Leading D-3 Study Program within Pancasila University.

At its inception, the Pancasila University D-3 Pharmacy Study Program specialized in Pharmacy Marketing and Distribution. In response to the evolving landscape of the healthcare sector (particularly pharmacy) and the regulation stipulating that Pharmacy Technical Personnel (TTK) must hold a minimum D-3 degree (Law No. 36 of 2014 on Healthcare Personnel), starting from the 2016/2017 academic year, the D-3 FFUP program has expanded the scope of its graduate profile to produce competent Pharmaceutical Technical Personnel in the pharmaceutical industry (marketing and distribution of pharmaceutical preparations, pharmaceutical production), as well as pharmaceutical services. This is also in line with Government Regulation No. 51 of 2009 concerning Pharmaceutical Work and Competency Standards for Pharmaceutical Technical Personnel in accordance with the Decree of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia No. 573/Menkes/SK/VI/2008 concerning Professional Standards for Assistant Pharmacists.

To prepare students to become competent graduates who are ready to work and contribute in the field of pharmacy, students of the D-3 Study Program participate in Field Work Practice (PKL) activities in the pharmaceutical industry (in the fields of marketing, distribution, production, and RnD), as well as in pharmaceutical service facilities (pharmacies, hospitals, community health centers, and clinics) for 3-4 months. Some students who pass the selection process are also included in the Certified State-Owned Enterprise Student Internship (PMMB) program for 6 months at state-owned pharmaceutical companies (PT Kimia Farma Tbk, PT Indofarma Tbk, and PT Biofarma), as well as at the Kalbe Group. At the end of their studies, all students take a comprehensive exam at the program level, the National Indonesian Pharmaceutical Technical Competency Exam (UKTTKI), and are sworn in as Pharmaceutical Technical Personnel.

As of February 2021, the FFUP D-3 Study Program has graduated 720 Associate Degree Pharmacists. Based on the 2019 tracer study data, graduates of the Pancasila University Faculty of Pharmacy D-3 Study Program quickly find employment with an average waiting period after graduation of 2.5 months and a job suitability rate in the pharmaceutical field of 86%. Eighteen percent of graduates from the D-3 Program of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Pancasila University are employed by multinational pharmaceutical companies, while the remainder are distributed across various pharmaceutical industries and pharmaceutical service facilities throughout Indonesia.
