Faculty of Pharmacy Universitas Pancasila (FFUP) reaffirmed its commitment to improve the quality of education and research with international standards through the World Class University (WCU) program. In this series of activities, FFUP proudly presented Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Ajmal Shah from Hazara University, Pakistan as the keynote speaker and collaboration partner. This activity included various important agendas, ranging from public lectures, workshops, to the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two faculties.
Public Lecture “Manuscript Writing and Publishing”
One of the main events of this series of activities was a public lecture entitled “Manuscript Writing and Publishing” delivered by Dr. Muhammad Ajmal Shah. In this public lecture, Dr. Shah provided practical guidance on writing and publishing scientific articles in indexed international journals. The public lecture, which was attended by lecturers and students of the Faculty of Pharmacy, is expected to improve the scientific publication skills of the participants, which is an important key to advancing academic reputation in the global arena.
Signing of Memorandum of Understanding: FFUP International Cooperation with Hazara University
After the public lecture session, the event continued with a historic moment, the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Faculty of Pharmacy of Pancasila University and the Faculty of Pharmacy of Hazara University, Pakistan. This Memorandum of Understanding will be a strong foundation for future academic and research collaborations, including the exchange of science, technology, and student exchange programs. Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy of Pancasila University, Prof. Dr. apt. Syamsudin, M.Biomed, said that this collaboration is a step forward in strengthening the position of the Faculty of Pharmacy of Pancasila University in the international arena.
“Green Extraction” Workshop for Eco-Innovation
One of the highlights of the WCU program was the Green Extraction Workshop hosted by Dr. Muhammad Ajmal Shah. The workshop aimed to introduce environmentally-friendly methods of extracting natural materials, an innovative approach in the modern pharmaceutical industry. Workshop participants consisting of lecturers, students, and industry practitioners had the opportunity to learn green extraction techniques that minimize the use of harmful chemicals and reduce negative impacts on the environment.
Community Service: Herbal Education
In order to implement the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, FFUP with Dr. Muhammad Ajmal Shah also held a community service program. This activity aims to educate the surrounding community about the safe and effective use of herbal medicine. This program received a positive response from the community, as well as showing the active role of the Faculty of Pharmacy in supporting public health in general.
Future Cooperation Prospects
The World Class University program was closed with a productive discussion between the two faculties regarding future cooperation opportunities. Through the agreed MoU, it is hoped that cooperation in the fields of research, education, and community service can continue to grow, provide benefits for both institutions, and contribute to the advancement of pharmaceutical science at the global level.
Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy Universitas Pancasila, Prof. Dr. apt. Syamsudin, M.Biomed, expressed his hope that this collaboration can open greater opportunities for the development of innovative and sustainable pharmaceutical technology, and strengthen the position of the Faculty of Pharmacy of Pancasila University as a globally competitive educational institution.
