The Faculty of Pharmacy Universitas Pancasila (FFUP) continues to be committed to supporting environmental sustainability through innovative conservation programs. Among others, FFUP has implemented several initiatives that not only focus on nature conservation, but also aim to improve food security and preserve biodiversity. Here are some of the ongoing conservation programs:

  1. Family Medicinal Plants (TOGA) Conservation
FFUP has land dedicated to Family Medicinal Plants, where various medicinal plants are grown and developed. One successful collaboration is with PT Dexa Medica, which supports the development of native Indonesian medicinal plants. This collaboration not only involves planting activities, but also research and development of medicinal plants that can contribute to medicine and public health. This program has received widespread attention and has been reported in online mass media, such as Media Indonesia and NERACA.

  2. Freshwater Fish Farming with Budikdamber Technique
As an effort to support food security, FFUP has also developed a freshwater fish farming program using the Budikdamber (Fish Farming in Buckets) technique. This technique combines catfish cultivation with vegetable plants in one place. The advantages of this technique include being cost-effective because it does not require electricity or a lot of water, and is easy to manage. Currently, FFUP has started catfish farming with 100 fish fry in one bucket. The catfish are kept for three months before being harvested, providing a sustainable food alternative in the campus environment.
  3. Biodiversity with Bird Presence at FFUP
FFUP also supports biodiversity through bird conservation in the campus environment. The emprit birds that naturally occur in the campus area are indicators of a healthy and sustainable ecosystem. The presence of these birds not only increases aesthetic value, but also plays a role in pest control, plant pollination, and seed dispersal. To support bird habitat, FFUP also provides birdhouses in the campus tree area, creating a more environmentally friendly campus ecosystem. In addition to emprit birds, FFUP also maintains several other bird species, adding to the diversity of fauna on campus.

With these various conservation programs, FFUP not only plays a role in preserving nature, but also supports the sustainability goals of a more environmentally friendly, balanced, and sustainable campus. Through these initiatives, FFUP is making a real contribution to food security, nature conservation, and raising awareness of the importance of maintaining biodiversity.
